This weekend was the HUUB Triathlon Relays, which This weekend was the HUUB Triathlon Relays, which is always a great event. We entered 4 teams this year.

Tom, Robin, Mark T, and Matt were in the V40s category, coming home with a national🥈 medal and 11th overall.

Dan, Zac, Tim, and Andre were in the Open category, facing off against some of the quickest teams in the country. Coming a very respectable 6th overall and picked up 🥉 in the regional championships.

We then had two more open teams going head to head for club bragging rights. With the Newark Tri-Hards coming out on top on the day.

Tri-Hards - Mark O, Sharon, Amanda and Ricki, then Newark - We only came for the swim - Alex, Steve, Anne-Marie and Pam

It's an event that is great for competition but also as a taster of triathlon with all abilities present. So if you want to get involved, get in touch.
No sprints in sight this weekend - it was all abou No sprints in sight this weekend - it was all about going long!

Robin took on the Goliath that is the Outlaw Full (Ironman distance). Due to lake conditions, the race took a 🏃🚴🏃 format (a marathon isn't quite enough to run apparently 🤔). Robin finished a fantastic 9th in age group in a race that features a notoriously stacked field.

Sharon took on the inaugural Outlaw Middle event on the same day (also in duathlon format). Sharon put in a solid performance to finish 10th in age group within a race where a number of pros were also sighted 👀

🏃⛰ Whilst Robin maybe wasn't banking on running more than a marathon, Ricki had plans to do just that taking on the legendary Lakeland 50. That is indeed 50 miles up and down the mountains in the Lake District. After 15 hours and 20 minutes of running (including through the dark and rain) Ricki crossed the finish line. A phenomenal effort 👏

This year the standard distance event was designated as a qualifier for the British Triathlon Age-Group team with places at the 2027 world championships in Hamburg up for grabs.

Dan finished in 2:08:37 to claim 3rd in his 30-34 age category and 10th overall. Tom came in at 2:09:45 for 4th in the 40-44 category and 15th overall. Matt put in a solid effort to finish in 2:21:23, taking 15th in a competitive 45-49 age group and Alistair crossed the line in 2:40:29, finishing 29th in the 25-29 category.

Onto the sprint distance, Zac finished 3rd overall and topped his 20-29 age category with a time of 1:09:30. Robin also claimed 1st in the 40-49 category, finishing 6th overall in 1:13:22. Andre rounded things off brilliantly, finishing 7th overall and 3rd in the 20-29 category in a time of 1:14:06.

Earlier in the week Lorraine continued her success in the Notts AAA multi-terrain summer running league. After 3 of 5 races Lorraine is still occupying top spot in her age group!
The main event this weekend was the Europe Triathl The main event this weekend was the Europe Triathlon Championships in Tarragona Spain. Ian was there representing the GB Age Group Team in the sprint distance triathlon 🇬🇧

On Wednesday, Mark, Matt and Michael lined up in Brattleby, Lincs for a Lincolnshire Road Racing league fixture.

On Thursday, Dan joined the same trio at the @sleafordwheelerscc 10 mile TT disproving the rumour your name needed to start with an M to race! All posted respectable times of 24:32 (Mark), 25:22 (Michael), 23:03 (Dan) and 22:10 (Matt). Safe to say the 🍺 in Race HQ (The Horshoes pub) was well earned and a big thank you to Sleaford Wheelers for organising the event.
