Some brilliant performances over the last few week Some brilliant performances over the last few weeks for the club during the off‑season.

Tom won a 🥉 in the County Cross Championships and will race at the Inter‑Counties soon. Great runs too from Alex, Dan, and Hannah.

Pam delivered an epic effort, completing 23k through ice and snow in the Round Sheffield Run.

At the Sherwood Pines Standard Duathlon, Matt won his age group 🏆 and Michael finished 4th in his.

FIREBALL Relay today: 12 East Midland teams, 6000m FIREBALL Relay today: 12 East Midland teams, 6000m of 50m max‑effort chaos! Newark fought hard and finished 6th — just 60 seconds off 1st, thanks to wild cards every 300m. Every stroke counted. What a blast! 🔥💪

👏 Huge congratulations to Andre (Gainsborough) and Ian (Silverstone) on smashing their 10k PBs — both dipping under 40 minutes for the first time! Fantastic run from Paul at Gainsborough too.

🎄 Loraine had a brilliant run at Sherwood Pines for the Christmas 10k — festive miles well earned!
Off season continues with 7 NTC members in action. Off season continues with 7 NTC members in action. PB's were achieved by Dave - 3h 13m at York Marathon, and by Alistair - 3h 26m at Amsterdam Marathon.  Congratulations both of you!

It was also the Sherwood Pines Trophy race - part of the gravel masters series. Matt, Michael, Mark, Louis and Anne-Marie braved the wet and windy conditions performing extremely well, with Matt coming 15th overall (5th age group).
Triathlon off-season is in full flow! While some m Triathlon off-season is in full flow! While some members are resting and planning for next season, others have been busy competing in a variety of events.

Matt took on the British Gravel Championships, finishing in a highly respected spot in a competitive field.

Dan placed 3rd at the Stilton Stumble, and Hannah had a fantastic run following Saturday’s cross-country.

Huge congrats to Dave for a new PB at the Tissington Half Marathon!

At Peterborough HM, Paul and Mark both achieved PBs, while Alex made a brilliant comeback.

Louis delivered a strong, brilliant run at the Nottingham HM.

Matt and Mark also tackled the Viking Challenge—great effort!
This Sunday was the Woodhall Spa Sprint distance T This Sunday was the Woodhall Spa Sprint distance Triathlon. Set around the 33m open air pool in Jubilee Park. A fantastic club turnout for one of the season closing events. The list of achievements was long, with Dan an overall podium- 3rd. Matt - 1st age group 45-49, Robin - 3rd age group, Ian - 3rd age group 40-44,
Sharon - 3rd age group 45-49. Equally brilliant performances from Jem, Michael, Andre and Zac. A special mention for Zac stepping in for Tom at late notice having also completed a night triathlon the evening before at Rutland.  Pam took on the 2mile Swim Serpentine in London on Saturday in positively tropical 15 degree water.

We had 4 equally matched teams representing the club, and it couldn’t have been much closer — 3 of the teams finished within a minute of each other, with the 4th not far behind. Great racing all round, with plenty of PBs across the 3 disciplines 💪.

1) 4:02:58 – Zac, Si, Jem, Dan
2) 4:03:30 – Jake, Louis, Pam, Ian
3) 4:03:59 – Chris, Mark, Sharon, Alex
4) 4:08:55 – Robin, Derek, Anne-Marie, Andre (chip timing issues on the official results site)

Looking forward to the National Relay Championship Looking forward to the National Relay Championships at Holme Pierrepont this weekend, where we have 4 teams representing the club! 💪

Meanwhile, Andre and Jem were in action at the Bassetlaw Sprint Triathlon, both delivering fantastic performances! 👏

Geoff and Cliff travelled to Stockholm, Sweden to take part in the Midnattsloppet 10k — 30,000 runners taking to the streets, all wearing the same colour! 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

👏 Congratulations to Tom as well, who placed 3rd in his age group at the Rutland Water 4K Swim!

Showing the range of competition available in mult Showing the range of competition available in multi sport, this weekend with two extremes. Dan was at the Outlaw on Saturday competing in the Aquathlon (aka the one without the fun bit 🚲). This was also the English Champs where Dan collected first in his age group and with it a National title 👌.

Jake was at the other extreme completing in the Ironman Leeds. Not only is a full distance a pretty tough event, this one took in some of the hills around Leeds finishing off with a marathon in Roundhay park. Jake toughed it out to finish and be able to call himself an Ironman long after the pain in his legs has gone 💪. An added bonus was being handed his medal by Sam Laidlow who won the event 🥳.

🏊‍♂️🚴‍♂️🏃‍♂️ Despite heavy rain, Dan came 2nd overall and Ian placed 6th overall (2nd in age group) at the Belvoir Sprint Triathlon.
Robin claimed 4th in age group at the Compton Verney, Warwick Sprint Triathlon.
Jem was once again in fine form at the Woodhorn Museum Sprint Triathlon. 👏

🏃‍♂️ Dave continues his streak of epic runs:
Last week, he smashed the Lakeland Trails 55k Ultra Run, and today, he did it again at the Borrowdale Half Marathon Trail. 👏

🚴‍♂️ Andre tackled the Holkham Sportive, completing his first 75-mile ride.👏

🚴‍♂️ Bob wrapped up his epic Channel to Med tour, covering 1,400 km with 16,940 feet of climbing, taking in sections of the Tour de France route. Chapeau! 👏

Tom took second 🥈 overall and 🥇 in his 30-39 age group. Robin and Sharon both with podiums in their respective 40-49 age groups, Robin🥈and Sharon 🥉. 

Andre and Zac both new to triathlon didn’t let that stop them, coming 🥉 and 🥇 in the 20-29 age group.

Big congratulations to Matt for an outstanding per Big congratulations to Matt for an outstanding performance at the Lakesman Aquabike this weekend — 3rd overall and 1st in his age group! 💪🏅

Also at Lakesman, Dave tackled the half iron distance just 8 days after smashing Ironman 70.3 Bolton — an incredible feat of endurance!

At Woodhall Spa 10k, Geoff G came 6th overall, and 1st in his age group! 👏 

Meanwhile, Mark and Michael took on the epic Rapha Sportive: 123km with over 1,200m of climbing — impressive stuff! 🚴‍♂️

Tom and Jem enjoyed ideal conditions at the Masters Swim Mile at Activities Away, while Geoff C, Cliff, and Paul clocked fantastic times at the Hull 10k. 👏

Matt took on the Gralloch in Galloway, Scotland which was a world championship gravel bike qualifying race. Great performance- just a minute or so off a qualifying time after 110k of riding with lots of elevation and technical terrain. Next year!

Ian was at the Outlaw triathlon, taking part in the Sprint race. This was a GB qualifying event. He came 14th age group in a competitive field. 

Tom took the win 🏆 at the Colchester Zoo 10k. Hannah took the overall 3rd 🥉 at Skelly 10k, with Chris getting round in a great time on this trail run. Paul bagged a PB at Chester half marathon. Zac completed his first ever half marathon at Gateshead. Dave took on a 22k trail race at Staveley, Lake District.

NTC members participated in two triathlons over th NTC members participated in two triathlons over the weekend. First up was Dan at the Burghley standard-distance triathlon, which was this year’s National Championships. He was 48th overall and a respectable 6th in his age category in an unsurprisingly competitive field. 

Next up, Jem, Sharon and Robin were at the Brigg sprint-distance triathlon. With Jem and Sharon both taking first in their respective age groups 👏🥇🏆
Following a successful cross-country winter, atten Following a successful cross-country winter, attention has now switched to the road, aiming to get pb's or recent best's early on in the season.

Congratulations to Tom, Dan, Paul, Cliff, Hannah, Derek, David and Chris on great performances at Lincoln 10k. Also to Geoff at Leamington 10k. 

Earlier this season, there was amazing performances from Hannah at North Lincs Half Marathon,  Dave and Mark at Retford Half Marathon, Paul and David at Sheffield Half Marathon, and Cliff at Nottingham 10k. 

Also, great times at Buttermere 20k trail run for Dave, and for Mark and Matt at the Rauceby Ripper Trail Run.

In challenging windy conditions, we saw some amazing results! Big shoutout to getting a PB:

🌧️ Edwinstowe 10k Trail Run:
Even the rain couldn’t dampen spirits this weekend, with brilliant efforts from Bob, Dave, Loraine, and Cliff on the trails. 🌲💥

Huge congratulations to everyone who laced up and gave it their all. The hard work is paying off already—bring on the rest of the season!
On Sunday, Derek took on the T100 Grand Final in D On Sunday, Derek took on the T100 Grand Final in Dubai, battling through a 2k swim, 80k bije and 18k run in scorching desert heat and humidity with a stunning backdrop. He gave a phenomenal performance — well done, Derek! 👏🔥

Back in the UK, it is now off season and in recent weeks,
🏃‍♂️ Geoff smashed it at the Yorkshire Coast 10k
🏃‍♂️ Cliff braved the Rutland 10k Night Race
🏃‍♂️ Mark & Dave nailed the Worksop Half Marathon with fantastic times.

In cross country, Robin represented Newark AC, helping his team secure a brilliant 2nd place in the Midlands Masters V45.

Big day for Matt, who proudly represented Team GB Big day for Matt, who proudly represented Team GB in the World Triathlon Championships (Standard Distance) in Torremolinos, Spain! Despite the warm conditions, he delivered a fantastic performance, finishing 40th in his age group. Huge congratulations to Matt on this incredible achievement!

Meanwhile, closer to home, Pam, Cliff, and Mark tackled the Dukeries 10-mile run. Despite the wet and muddy course, the event’s laid-back and friendly vibe made it all worthwhile—especially the well-deserved tea and biscuits at the finish line! 🏃‍♂️🌧️☕
